Panama is working hard on expanding its canal. Through this mega project, the Central American country aims to position itself as a logistics hub for the entire continent. Widening and deepening the waterway and constructing new locks should make the channel accessible to the world’s largest container ships.
Autoridad del Canal Panama (ACP) commissioned Antea Group to provide the master plan for development of the Panama Canal West Bank. This engineering and consulting contract is part of an extensive canal modernization project. The master plan will detail the development of a 1,200-hectare area along the canal’s Pacific coast. Antea Group will define the strategic framework, assess the area and perform a market analysis. The plan will also establish and elaborate on a framework for commercial and industrial activities. This includes examining possibilities for storage and transshipment of raw materials such as LNG, and processing larger freight volumes.
“The successful completion of a project at such a renowned location in collaboration with colleagues from Antea Colombia and members of Antea Group shows what we can achieve together as Antea Group.”
